Passing your SIA training course is an exciting milestone — but what comes next? Here’s a simple guide to help you understand the next steps toward becoming a fully licensed security professional.

✅ Step 1: Receive Your Results

Once you pass your exams, you’ll receive:

• A text message congratulating you

• An email with your digital certificates

• Instructions on what to do next, based on whether you’re new or renewing

📄 Step 2: Apply for Your SIA Licence

You’ll need to apply for your licence through the SIA website. This involves:

• Creating or logging into your SIA online account

• Uploading documents and a passport-style photo

• Paying the licence fee (currently £190)

Step 3: Wait for Approval

Licence processing usually takes 2–3 weeks, but times can vary. You’ll receive updates by email, and you can track progress through your SIA account.
