Role Overview
As a Site Security Manager at G4S, you will take on a pivotal role in ensuring the security and safety of a production facility. This position demands a leader who can effectively manage operational aspects, develop and train a security team tailored to the unique needs of a production environment, and ensure that all security measures align with the facility's specific requirements and standards. Your leadership will directly contribute to maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the production facility's operations
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the performance of the G4S Security Team to ensure adherence to all Security Service Level Agreements
To review the contracted Physical Security Service Operation on an ongoing basis and agree any changes with the G4S Contract Manager and the Client
Act as first line escalation to all incidents on the client sites
To lead and develop all necessary routine training for the G4S Security Team
To manage on behalf of the G4S Security Team an ongoing site-specific training programme in association with Constabulary agencies and the client
To oversee the management of all operational security
To ensure all security staff are SIA Licensed and oversee the SIA licence renewal process
To manage personnel and disciplinary matters relevant to the G4S Security Team in close liaison with G4S HR as necessary
To collate monthly Security Team Management information in respect of overtime, sickness and annual leave and provide that data to G4S HR for payroll and HR purposes
To provide necessary detailed input into the Security Service Budget
To lead the Employee Performance Review process for all Security Team staff
Support G4S HR and Recruitment on the recruitment of security staff and promotions within the Security Team
To be conversant with the G4S Health and Safety Management System and to comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act and emergency procedures as required
To manage the monthly Health and Safety inspection process and ensure risk assessments are in place for all Security Team activities
Maintain correct manning levels on all sites to ensure that both contractual and temporary work orders are satisfied to the customer’s expectation and within G4S budgetary guidelines
Ensure that working hours of all employees are managed within individual contract specification and also within WTD or any other legislative guidelines
Ensure that all officers are suitably trained and have adequate site instructions to carry out the required duties
Where applicable, take appropriate corrective action to address performance and behavioural issues. Alternatively and where a more serious issue arises, conduct a full investigation and present the facts for decision makers to act accordingly
Maintain relevant and up to date employee information on G4S systems, including data required for correct completion of Employee Details and Exceptions report
Identify and nominate excellent performance through the Core Values and Star of the Month recognition schemes
Employee Welfare
Actively participate in and resolve, as appropriate, any officer issues. Ensure that all welfare care visits performance is managed and corrective action taken when applicable, to achieve company standards
Respond to any missed book on/missed check calls/absenteeism using the regional escalation procedure to report any problems
Ensure that the induction process of new employees runs smoothly. This is to include conducting Induction training and onsite training prior to deployment when and where necessary and the relevant training matrix’s are to be completed
Conduct leaver interviews and capture reasons for an employee leaving the business
Ensure that all officers wear appropriate uniform and PPE and that re issue is managed within budgetary guidelines

You’ll be greeting staff and visitors, interacting with the general public, ensuring they follow security protocols keeping our customers and their premises secure. Patrolling the premises and dealing with any security incidents, you’ll ensure visitors and staff are in a safe environment by de-escalating situations in a firm but respectful manner. Most of our roles operate on a day shift with sociable hours (generally 08:45 to 17:15) Monday to Saturday, however some flexibility to work out of hours as and when necessary will be required. You will cover a number of different sites in your area so no two days will be the same.
It would be ideal if you have an SIA licence or experience in security, but if not then full training will be provided. What’s crucial is your great communication and customer service skills. All our admin is digital and paperless, so you’ll need to be tech savvy enough to use our digital devices. As this is a mobile position, you must have a driving licence and your own vehicle.

As this is an Area Relief Officer position covering multiple sites, you will also need to have a full driving licence and your own transport.
