G4S are looking for experienced Security Officers to join our relief team across a collection of prestigious sites in London.

You will work on a 42 hpw contract across a variety of sites and will need to be flexible to work a range of days, nights and weekends.

Duties and responsibilities could include:
To prioritize the safety, security and service of the site, its staff, car parks, customers, our client and property.
To be polite, caring and understanding when supporting employees, guests and members of the public.
To be able to manage situations, this may involve conflict in line with training and policy Guidelines.
Attention to detail and alert to any changes that may indicate an increased security risk or unusual situation.
Inducting visitors, monitoring CCTV, conducting regular patrols and any other ad hoc duties as required

Salary: £13.34 p/h (Annual Salary of £27,755 FTE, rising to at least £29,257 in January 2024 and £31,354 after 2 years’ service)

Hours: Full & Part-Time shifts available

What hours are available?

When applying, you can express a preference for one of the following shift patterns. Whatever you choose, the shifts themselves are approximately 8.5 hours.

Full Time:

Lates (F/T): Afternoon and evening shifts (finishing as late as 23:00). Four days on, two days off.

Core Combination (F/T): Mixed early (starting as early as 04:15), late (finishing as late as 22:45) and some night shifts (e.g. 21:00 - 06:00). Four days on, two days off.

Part Time:

Weekend Lates (P/T): Afternoon and evening shifts (13:30 - 22:00), on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Variable Lates (P/T): Afternoon and evening shifts (finishing as late as 23:00), in a pattern that includes all days (including some weekends) and equates to an average of 20 hours per week.

Core Combination (P/T): Mixed early (starting as early as 04:15), late (finishing as late as 22:45) and night shifts (e.g. 21:00 - 06:00), equating to an average of 20 hours per week.

Once you’ve completed your training, you’ll know your shifts 12 months in advance, so you can plan around them. Swaps are often possible, providing even greater flexibility, but it's important that you're available for all shifts on the pattern you apply for.

Like everyone here, you‘ll be passionate about creating the best Heathrow experience for all our passengers. Throughout each shift, you’ll be greeting people, patrolling the airport, monitoring secure areas and generally putting everyone at ease.

You’ll also be carrying out searches and safety checks on passengers, colleagues, and the items they bring through the airport. Our Security Officers only search people of their own gender, of course. Which is why we recruit separately for male and female roles.

Yours will be the friendly face that offers passengers a warm welcome as well as a constant reassuring presence, alert to everything that's going on around you, ready to spot potential threats and responding rapidly if and when you do.
